After the mechanical parts are - mostly - finished on the TRex, I've started to search for a contractor for the camperbox. First I was toying with the idea of buying a "branded" box, like the EGOE Nest, or a Campall, but prices seemed a bit too high, fit would not have been perfect, and also features were either useless (for my needs) or missing. So I thought I'd DIY it myself. I've sketched a few designs in CAD, and wanted to find a company who would laser cut 12mm plywood according to the plans. But then came the virus, and it also seemed to be a "too small job" for any business to worth it. Eventually (partially due to the virus) a new company has emerged on facebook, making and customizing campervans and training equimpent for climbers - pretty much exactly what I needed. I've contacted them last week (05.08), and the box shall be ready by Saturday (05.16 !!!). I hardly believe it when they said "it would be ready by next week". Only the bed platform is needed to be finished, and its looking pretty good I must say. Also the'ye estimated around 520 EUR, which seems unreal...
Basically there is a Dometic CFX28, a 25L water tank, and a gas stove. Also I have 2x150W semi flexible solar panels and a 120 Ah lifepo4 battery. General plan is to keep the Rex modular, nothing will be permanently mounted, so I'll build something similar: https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/diy-li...-generator.html
Sure I'll upload a load of pictures of the finished interior as well :) When are You planning your trip in September? If the boarders will be fully open, we are planning a trip from 4th to the 19th. Route is not fixed, so we can even meet halfway somewhere :)
Well, it was raining during the weekend, so I could only took a couple of pictures. Anyway, the setup is working great so far! It was especially nice to spend the rainy night in the Rex, rather than in a tent. |addpics|te4-q-38da.jpg-invaddpicsinvv,te4-r-336e.jpg-invaddpicsinvv,te4-s-c64b.jpg-invaddpicsinvv,te4-t-d115.jpg-invaddpicsinvv,te4-u-4c59.jpg-invaddpicsinvv,te4-v-c210.jpg-invaddpicsinvv|/addpics|
Wow, looks great and professionally made, your camper box. Did you end up with the 520 EUR, as they have estimated? With one week production time, and fitting it into the car this seems to be a real bargain. I suppose the equipment is your own and it is not included in the price. And it looks like you have a cooler installed as well. All the best Daniel

I am glad You like it. As for price and part: I bough all the equipment, like the CFX28 fridge, 25L water tank, stove (these are pretty straightforward), but also the hinges for the collapsible table, latches, and the heavy duty drawer slides - as I was planning a DIY build first. The drawer slides cost around 30 EUR per pair (bought 3 pairs), rest are from AliExpress, totaling at around 50 EUR maybe. The final price turned out to be a bit higher (less than 20 EUR extra) due to the need of another pair of slides for the "sink". Still, almost the cost of the fridge on its own.. Ofcourse, the company is brand new, so I guess this is more like a reference job (they have asked if they can post it) - indeed a bargain from my perspective.
