I'm looking for the problem about a noise (lie a "clonck") when I change a speed. It's like the is a play. There is a problem with the transmision with the starex ? Cause the old owner found this problem and ask to hyundai to change the flector on waranty.
thanks by advance

do you have this noise during the speed change only, or do you have this, if you change the gears, too?
I have this noise if I change from the 1st to the 2nd gear and in low speed if I throttle the accelerator pedal, abrupt. But I thought that this in normal, because I had the same noise at my previous car a Toyota Landcruiser.
And I think you are right, this noise could be come from the flange of the differential - or from the bearing of the cardan shaft?
I´m not sure if an additiv will fix the problem - it could be if the additiv makes the oil more semifluid. But I would be careful with this, because all Starex from 2004- have a differential break and wrong oil or additiv could damage this break.
Agreement with Reinhard,I have changed new oil in all differential(special oil for LSD-low slip differencial) and change is not(noise is remain) I think thats is normal for LSD differental and when is summary tolerance bigger than standart value on "road" gear box>Reduction box>shaft>differential>wheel,is hear this noise.I am resignate for this.

Das Geräusch ist normal. Ich habe dieses Geräusch auch. Der Antrieb ist Lastkraftwagen Technik mit reichlich Zahnspiel.
The noise is normal/correct. I have this noise too. The drive is trucks technology with plenty of backlash.
Le bruit est normal. J'ai ce trop de bruit. Le lecteur est la technologie des camions et abondamment avec de l'espacement des dents. ?

Hello, thus slightly known on the forum for my photos thus concerning this noise, yes he(it) is normal, but for my part I have a solution to damp the noise of +ou-70 %, it is enough to put the compulsory additive for bridges(decks) AR in sliding limited by Jeep, to use with the oil of origin of Starex, for the moment 25000 km with this additive, and no problem.
